National Police Week continues to put the focus on who serves to protect their local communities.  

Stuart Police Sergeant Katie Guisinger says she has been with the department for five years and giving back to the community keeps her going. 

“Just enhance the community, whether it’s be programs with children or community givebacks or supporting, you know, our local schools. I think it’s just an important way that if everyone is able to give something in some way, that just helps the community as a whole.”

She says that the Stuart Police Department allows her to combine her love for law enforcement and teaching children with the number of youth programs that they are available to offer. 

National Police Week is May 15th-21st.
