While the Perry Middle School renovation project is still underway, the project is nearing completion.
The middle school renovation project began in May of 2021 and the funding came from a $10 million revenue bond that was approved by the school board. Superintendent Clark Wicks says the project is getting down to the last few items.
“We are coming to a close of this project, it has been a lengthy one but our staff has persevered, students have persevered.”
Wicks tells Raccoon Valley Radio the renovation project has brought with it not only the renovation aspect to the building but it has also brought along Perry Pride inside the building as well.
“We wanted to have a school that demonstrated Perry Pride so when you walk in you feel a good sense of pride. That whole school has been renovated to some degree and looks really, really sharp. When you enter, it has a whole new feeling from the lights from the huge Perry lettering that goes across there and then all of the rooms that were able to get renovated.”
Wicks says the expectation is that the project will be fully finished with all of its punch list items this week.
