The wait is finally over and the 2022 baseball season officially begins today for the Panorama Panthers baseball team.
The Panorama Panthers boys baseball team will get their 2022 season officially underway today when they head out for their first game of the season against the South Hamilton Hawks. The junior varsity game will begin at 5 p.m. with the varsity game to follow at 7 p.m.
When looking at the expectations for this season the Panthers baseball team had an extremely successful season last year finishing second in the West Central Activities Conference with an overall record of 23-5 on the year and falling just one game short of state in the Class 2A Substate 8 Championship game to the Clarinda Cardinals by a score of 8-3.
The Panthers boys baseball team will be looking to find production at the plate from other places seven seniors graduated from the team after last season and combined they were responsible for 200 of the 262 hits the Panthers recorded as a team last year. Of those seniors four of them provided innings on the mound and were responsible for 145 of the teams 204 strikeouts last year.
Historically, this Panthers baseball program has seen success as over the past few seasons they have finished with a record of 23-5, 12-4 and 15-14 finishing with double digit win totals each year.
The Panthers boys baseball team will officially get their season going tonight when they take on the South Hamilton Hawks at South Hamilton High School. The varsity game is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
