Coach Matt Paulsen’s Greene County varsity baseball team began the 2022 season Monday night on the road in Denison. The Rams and Denison-Schleswig squared off in a non-conference contest with the Monarchs winning 14-2 in 4-1/2 innings by the 10-run rule.

The Rams were shorthanded due to soccer and other commitments. Coach Matt Paulsen reports the Rams had four hits, including two Justin Stream singles, a Kole Teeples run producing double, and a double for Noble Hoyt. Joe Carey was the starting pitcher with Blake Hamann and Matthew Hovick pitching in relief.

Greene County’s home opener is this Thursday in Jefferson at Allensworth Field vs. Carroll High.
