With the delay of the planting season, farmers are finally starting to be in the fields once again.
Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams says with increased activity in the fields that means more farm equipment will be on the roadways. He advises motorists to exercise patience and caution when they encounter farm equipment on the road.
“So if you’re approaching a farm implement, just make sure you are looking for field drives that they might turn into, to make sure that if you’re going to pass it’s a safe pass. And then just pass in passing zones, don’t pass in no passing zones.”
Williams adds farm equipment operates at a much slower speed, so when someone wants to pass them, make sure there is no oncoming traffic.
