A new outdoor sporting goods store is coming to a Guthrie County town soon.

Owner Quienton Pfeiffer, is planning on opening his outdoor sporting goods store in Panora called “Quinnebago” on Memorial Day. Pfeiffer says the store will be a retail and rental shop with kayaks, paddle boards, electric bikes along with retail items for water and outdoor sports. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Guthrie County is a perfect place for an outdoor store.

“I think Guthrie County with the deer hunting, deer population, the Raccoon River, I think that’s a really good fit and then obviously Lake Panorama in Panora is great for kayaking, fishing, water sports, stuff like that.”

Pfeiffer hopes to get customers that normally would have to travel to Des Moines to other outdoor sporting goods stores. Quinnebago will be in the old Ben Five and Dime building on 106 East Main Street in Panora. There will be a soft opening on May 21st.
