A reminder that tomorrow is a special program with the Greene County Historical Society.
Historical Society Member Mikki Schwartzkopf will present on the Jefferson Chautauqua Association. This organization ran from 1901 to 1930 and brought in several speakers to the tent at the location of where the Chautauqua Park is now in Jefferson. Before the advent of radio and television, this was how Greene Countians were able to stay in touch with what was happening in the country and around the world, with several speakers and presentations.
The free program will be at 2pm at the historical museum in Jefferson, and refreshments will be served.
