The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center track and fields performed at the state qualifying meet in Treynor Thursday and many athletes earned automatic bids.

Austin Kunkle finished in first place in the boys 100 and 200 meter dash which earned him an automatic qualifying bid in both of those events. Also, Cayden Jensen earned a qualifying spot finishing second in the 200 meter dash and Trevin Suhr placed first in the 1600 meter run and he will also be a state qualifier. For the boys team events that punched their ticket to state include the 4×100 relay team along with distance medley and 4×800 meter relay team.

Chloe Largent out jumped her opponents in the high jump event in Treynor girls meet which landed her a spot in the state meet with her teammate Ava Campbell qualifying with a second place finish in the 800 meter run.

The 2022 Iowa High School Track & Field Championships are scheduled for May 19-21 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
