A Grand Junction man was recently sentenced to jail for a domestic abuse incident.
According to court documents, 44-year-old Raymond Bacon pled guilty to amended charges of three serious misdemeanors for domestic abuse assault – causing bodily injury or mental illness. He received an adjudicated guilty conviction and was sentenced to 60 days in the Greene County Jail for each count and to be served concurrently.
The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office that began on June 4, 2021. Bacon performed sex acts on the victim after she feel asleep from medications she was taking for health-related issues.
Bacon was originally charged with a Class C Felony for third degree sexual abuse, but court documents show the charge was amended to the three serious misdemeanors. A no contact order remained in place between the victim and Bacon for five years and he was ordered to pay over $500 in fines, surcharges, and court-appointed attorney fees. Victim restitution will be determined at a later date.
