The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday in regular session.

The meeting started with three public hearings to sell three vacant properties. The first two were at 206 South Maple Street and 500 North Oak Street that went to Thielen Home Construction for $500 each to build single family homes. The third property was at 507 South Locust Street that was sold to Rowland Real Estate for $550 to also build a single family home.

The Council then approved a contract with Cemetery Information Management Systems not to exceed $40,000 to digitize all cemetery data and develop a search portal for the city cemetery. They also approved an additional $9,300 for a roof replacement project on the VFW Hall. During the removal of the old roof, the contractor found an additional layer of plywood decking that needed to be removed as well.

Next, the Council approved a $9,920 contract with Maguire Iron to make repairs to the city’s water tower and a quarterly funding request with Greene County Development Corporation.
