The postseason for Greene County High School in boys’ golf is today. Track & field’s postseason starts tomorrow, followed by the opening round of postseason play in girls’ golf on Friday.

Coach Heath Telleen’s Rams go west to Denison’s Majestic Hills Golf Course today for a Class 3A Golf Sectional. Atlantic, Carroll, Glenwood, Harlan Community, Council Bluffs Lewis Central, Perry, and the host Monarchs are the other teams involved. Qualifiers today advance to a May 16 District meet in Spencer.

State Qualifying Meets in track & field are tomorrow throughout the State. Greene County sends its girls and boys southwest to Treynor for a 2A meet. The first and second place finishers in each event are automatic State qualifiers, and the next eight best performances over all eight 2A sites also advance to Drake Stadium in Des Moines May 19-20-21. Paton-Churdan goes to Earlham for a Class 1A meet where only the first place finishers are guaranteed to go to State.

Greene County hosts a Class 2A girls’ golf first round Regional this Friday at Jefferson Community Golf Course. The Rams will be joined by East Sac County, Kuemper Catholic, MVAOCOU (Maple Valley), OABCIG (Ida Grove), Roland-Story (Story City), South Central Calhoun (Lake City), and Southeast Valley (Gowrie). Qualifiers move on to a May 18 Regional final in Atlantic at Nishna Hills Golf Club.
