Dallas Center – Grimes boys and girls golf were on the course on Monday against multiple teams in Little Hawkeye Conference play, with the boys getting a team score of 330 for a 4th place finish, and the girls a team score of 380 for a 2nd place finish, finishing 2 off of first place Newton.
The girls were able to get a nice performance out of Laura Klaessy who shot an 88 and Kaylin Petrak who was able to score an 89, Klaessy finishing 2nd and Petrak finishing 3rd. Josie Lampe was able to fire a 96 and Kaylee Huinker finishing out the scoring with a 107.
The Mustangs were lead by Jacob Runyan, who was able to achieve all-conference honors with a 77 to lead the Mustangs. Johnathan Howard was able to fire an 82, Blake Perrin an 83, and Noah Moberg an 88 to finalize the Mustang scoring for the day.
The boys will be playing in their sectional tomorrow at 10 am at the Ballard Golf and Country Club, while the girls will have more events this week, with postseason play to begin next week.
