West Central Valley athletics will pick up where they left off last week, with both the boys and girls track and field teams competing tonight. The boys will be heading to Guthrie Center for the Merritt-Charger Invitational, where the competition includes other West Central Athletic Conference teams, like the hosting AC/GC Chargers, CAM Cougars, Earlham Cardinals, Madrid Tigers, Panorama Panthers, Van Meter Bulldogs, and Des Moines Christian Lions.
While the boys are staying close to home, the girls will head to Martensdale for the Martensdale-St Marys High School Girls Invitational. Other teams from the West Central Athletic Conference that will be competing are the Interstate 35 Roadrunners, Madrid Tigers, Panorama Panthers, Pleasantville Trojans, and Van Meter Bulldogs.
Also competing tonight, the girls soccer team will host the Kuemper Catholic Knights. Both teams are coming off a loss in their previous games, and will be looking to turn things around in what looks to be an evenly matched game.
