May 3: Officers responded to the 500 block of Clearview on a report of a domestic situation. Verbal discussion that was loud, all okay. Accident: Unit 1 unknown Unit 2 legally parked 2013 black Honda Civic registered to Patrica Yolanda Hernandez, 10500 Providence Drive, Johnston, IA. Officers responded to a report of a hit and run accident in the 1200 block of Otley. Owner of unit 2 was parked for a few minutes and returned to find her vehicle had been damaged and moved from it’s original parking position. Minor damage to the vehicle estimated at $1000. Officers received a report of internet fraud in the 500 block of 4th Street. Case under investigation.
May 4:Accident: Unit 1 Red 2012 Chevy Malibu registered to and driven by Robin Marie Schmitz, 406 E 4th St., Dawson. Unit 2 White 2017 Peterbilt Semi registered to Select Genetics LLC, Willmar MN. Driven by Dennis James Adams, 18891 530th St Chariton, IA. Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on Highway 141, Unit 2 was traveling west bound. Unit 2 did not realize the highway turned into a single lane and was driving into oncoming traffic swerved into the southbound ditch. Unit 1 and Unit 2 made impact in the roadway with the front drivers side of unit 2 hitting the rear drivers side of unit 1. Total estimated damages was $13000.00 Driver of unit 2 was issued a citation for driving on the wrong side of a two way highway. No injuries were reported. Accident: Unit 1 – red 2018 Honda CRV registered to and driven by Kathleen Marie Fox, 2502 Parkview Place, Perry. Unit 2 – Ben Franklin building. Driver of unit 1 was pulling into the parking spot and her shoe got stuck on the accelerator and she was unable to brake and struck the east side wall of Ben’s Five and Dime. Property owner was on scene and aware of the incident Minor damages to the vehicle and the building estimated at $1,000 total. Accident: Unit 1 – Beige 2005 Dodge Ram Pickup registered to driven by Harry Blosch Jr. 419 Willis Ave., Perry. Unit 2 – Blue 2014 Dodge Charger legally parked owned by Tina Nadene Webb, 1816 Evelyn, Perry.
Unit 2 was parked in the Hy-Vee parking lot. The driver of unit one came from the south and attempted to turn to the east into a parking spot next to unit 2 and struck the parked vehicle. Minor damages to vehicles estimated at $1,000.00
May 5: Arrest: Sheldon Gene Boswell, age 25, 808 4th St., Perry was arrested on warrants out Boone and Story County for failure to appear for driving under suspension and other traffic violations.
May 6: Arrest: Benjamin Sanchez Styles, age 39, 328 Pattee, Perry was taken into custody and charged with Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense, Arrest: Heladio Cortez Hernandez, age 25, 1212 2nd St., Perry was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication. Arrest: John Taylor Roberts, age 23, 615 SW7th St, Stuart, IA was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication,
May 7;
Arrest: Marvin Joel Sorto, age 22, 2512 Perry Park Ave., Perry, was arrested on a Hamilton County Warrant failure to appear and file substance abuse evaluation and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Arrest: Michael Angelo Benitez De Santiago, age 29, 414 S Lucas Ave, Eagle Grove, lowa was taken into custody and charged with operating while intoxicated 1st offense. Arrest: Emiliano Guerrero, age 21, 626 2nd St., Perry was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) 1st offense.
