The Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce and Handsome Hounds Boarding and Grooming celebrated a new location on Wednesday with a ribbon cutting. 

People joined in with the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce and owner Laura Juffer for the ribbon cutting ceremony for the expansion of Handsome Hounds Boarding and Grooming in Adel. Juffer says it was a good feeling to have everyone out at the new location.

“I groomed in town in a small location out of my house in Adel for eleven years and we had been in progress of trying to get the property from the existing owners we had just always told them when they were ready to retire to let us know. About two years ago they decided that’s the route they wanted to go and as of December we took over the property. “

Juffer tells Raccoon Valley Radio it’s nice to have a larger space to operate in especially since they started offering boarding in December of 2021. Juffer says the response from being able to offer a boarding service has been a positive one. 

“It’s been positive. We have been very busy, we have been staying pretty at capacity for the weekends which is really good and we are not even into summer yet. So, (if) anybody needs to make a reservation they need to think of that ahead of time if they can but it’s felt really good and I love it.”
