After being forced indoors and not being able to compete most of the season, this last week was the start of a good stretch of competition for the Wildcats track and field teams. Both teams started off the week on Tuesday, as they went to Woodward for a West Central Athletic Conference meet hosted by the Woodward-Granger Hawks.
Both teams also competed Thursday night, as they travelled to Panora for the Panorama Relays. Both teams competed well, especially the boys. Junior Blaise Beane took second in the 200 meter dash, with a time of 23.74 seconds. In the 110 meter hurdles, senior Tate Richter came in fourth with a time of 15.93 seconds. Richter also took third place in the 400 meter hurdles, with a time of 1 minute 0.89 seconds.
When it came to the team events, the 4X200 meter relay team took second with a time of 1 minute 34.59 seconds. The 4X400 meter relay team was able to nab a third place finish, with a time of 3 minutes 36.63 seconds, just .02 seconds behind the second place team. The 800 meter medley relay team was also able to get a third place finish, with a time of 1 minute 38.81 seconds. And finally, the 4X110 shuttle hurdle relay team came in fifth place with a time of 1 minute 13.56 seconds.
To finish off the week, both teams also competed in Ogden last night, look for more on results when they come in.
