Jefferson Telecom recently announced information to help eligible households save money on broadband service.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has launched the $14 billion Affordable Connectivity Program that provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward broadband service. Eligible households that have an income at or below the 200-percent federal poverty level, participates in an assistance program such as Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Federal Public Housing Assistance, Women, Infant Child (WIC) program; Lifeline or the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program. Households can also qualify if they can prove that they receive benefits from the free and reduced school lunch program, the school breakfast program; or received a federal Pell Grant during the current award year.
The long-term benefit program will help to lower the cost of broadband service for those households that are having a hard time affording internet service. Click the link below for more information.
