After experiencing large swings for the outdoor temperatures, some stabilization is on the way.

Weatherology Meteorologist Michael Karow says starting this week, the below freezing temperatures should discontinue overnight and the daytime highs should finally begin to be above 50 degrees, which hasn’t been consistently the case throughout much of April.

“The Climate Prediction Center did come out with their May temperature outlooks, still calling for temperatures to run slightly below average for this time of year. But I think those temperatures (will have) less of a daily swing from day-to-day temperatures looking to continue over the next couple of weeks here. So hopefully starting to get out of that stretch with the drastic temperature swings that we’ve been experiencing as of late.”

With the exception of Thursday’s daytime high in the mid-50s, the National Weather Service is calling for daytime highs to be in the 60s and 70s through mid-May.
