The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
During open forum, County Attorney Thomas Laehn addressed the Board. He mentioned that Vern Foje was going to pull back on supervising juveniles who were ordered to do community service through the juvenile court system. He said that whoever could take over supervising that program could also supervise a similar program for adults, which does not currently exist in Greene County. The Board didn’t take action following the discussion.
The Board then approved hiring Samantha Frette as a full time jailer, with an annual salary of $34,000, with an increase of $1,000 once she is certified. The Board also approved transferring $115,000 from tax increment financing to the debt service fund for payments toward the general obligation bond with interest. Finally, the Board approved a 30,000 gallon anhydrous ammonia tank for NEW Cooperative at its Cooper location. The request was made due to higher demand for anhydrous ammonia, which will give NEW Cooperative a 120,000 gallon capacity with the additional tank.
