With the up and down weather that has been taking place so far this year, the beginning of the gardening season has been a little difficult. 

Dallas County Master Gardener Coordinator Megan Will says with the up and down weather it depends on what people are wanting to plant so far this gardening season as to how they will perform this year. 

“It depends on what you are wanting to plant. Trees and shrubs and perennials are perfectly fine even if we had another cold snap, the leaves might get a little frosted but they are going to be perfectly fine, might not look beautiful but it’s not going to kill the plant.”

Will tells Raccoon Valley Radio things are a little slower at the beginning of this year as the ground temperature in Dallas County is low and things may be a week behind this year as the ground isn’t warm yet.
