Dallas Center – Grimes track and field continued on their quest for good results at the Drake Relays, and were able to find them again on a rainy and cool Friday.
The Mustangs were able to get multiple 2nd place finishes on the day, as junior Kileigh Lachacz was able to put up a solid result in the discus finishing with a second place finish, a throw of 129-2. Carter Boley was able to put up a quality 14th place finish in the shot put with a throw of 49-04. In the 1600 medley relay, the Mustangs were able to bring home a school record time of 3 minutes 30 seconds. Keaton Jackson, Gavin Todd, Daniel Onwuramaka, and Aiden Ramsey. The DCG 4×400 team finishes 21st with a time of 3 minutes 30 seconds.
DCG will be having a buys Saturday, with the girls 4×100 meter relay team running at 9:15, at 9:45 the boys 4×100 meter relay team competes, at 10:27 am the 4×800 meter relay team runs, and at 4:23 the boys 1600 event will happen, with Aiden Ramsey looking to add another first place finish.
