There are two opportunities left to catch a musical performed by the Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School Speech and Theater Department.
The AC/GC students will be performing the musical “Newsies” which is set in 1899 about newspaper sellers who get exploited by their bosses and go on strike to fight back against big business. Sophomore Kelsey Carlson plays Catherine and says she has enjoyed the camaraderie of being in this play.
“Oh, my goodness. We’ve been working for like two or three months on this, and it’s kind of crazy because it feels like we just started, but we really have put in a lot of work and we’ve been here at least three or four times a week doing this for hours on end. And I think I’m really excited to show everyone that the hard work has paid off.”
Newsies will take place at the high school auditorium tonight at 7pm and the Sunday matinee at 2pm. The price of admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students.
