Coach Carl Behne’s Greene County boys’ soccer team was a 9-0 winner over Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) in Grand Junction on Thursday night. The Rams improved to 4-2 while the Knights fell to 0-7. The shut out was the first this season for Greene County and the margin of victory was the widest of 2022 for the Rams.  The score was 5-0 at halftime.

Two Rams had “hat tricks” with three goals each in Gesser Aguilar and Brenner Gallagher.  Jose Velazco scored the first two goals of the night and he now has a team leading nine goals. Jack Hansen also scored for Greene County. Velazco added  an assist.

Coach Behne credited the back line of Braeden Roberts, Cody Allen, and Milo Taute for helping goalkeeper Gabe Ebersole have a clean night. “We had 16 guys get solid playing time tonight.” The Rams were without regular starters Nate Black (track meet) and Nathan Behne (injury).
