Public safety officials responded to a crash that resulted in injuries on Interstate 80 in Dallas County Thursday morning.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 7:27 a.m. Thursday morning a blue Chrysler sedan driven by Gabriel Schuster of Stuart was traveling eastbound and traveled off the roadway at mile marker 112 on Interstate 80 between DeSoto and Van Meter. Upon leaving the roadway the vehicle driven by Schuster struck a collapsable barrier.

Schuster was transported by Dallas County EMS for his injuries and the vehicle was totaled. The Iowa State Patrol and DeSoto Police Department also responded to the call.
