Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center boys track and field team will send four athletes to the Drake Relays to compete in two events this weekend.

Head Coach Colin Shawgo says 4×100 relay team grabbed the 21st spot at the Drake Relays and Austin Kunkle qualified for the 16th spot. Shawgo tells Raccoon Valley Radio the significance of these Drake Relay qualifiers for the Chargers.

“As well the past few years. And there are going to be, if I remember correctly, the first charger buoys, relay teams and individual to make it to the Drake relay since AC DC combined to become one unified school. So it’s really, it’s really, really exciting, especially since they are kind of making history with this for the boys team.”

The Drake Relays will begin in Des Moines from now until Saturday.
