The city of Stuart is going to have the ability for residents to get rid of their junk starting this week.
Coordinator Bob Cook says the Stuart city cleanup days will be Friday from 10am-6pm and then again on Saturday from 8am-3pm at City Shed Site East of Los Altos. Cooks say the items will be landfill acceptable trash, recyclable medals, appliances, batteries and furniture. Cook tells Raccoon Valley Radio how important these days are for the city.
“But this community has invested a lot in growth and to bring new homes here and new people and new businesses. Our entire downtown area now has almost every storefront filled. So we want our town to shine and that means if you have something unsightly, this is a chance to get rid of it.”
Cook also adds that anyone is welcome to volunteer. There will be a chance for the volunteers to travel to handicapped individuals homes to pick up materials if they register by Thursday. For more information on how to volunteer or pick up registration visit here.
