Iowa State thrower Danielle Hoyle and Northern Iowa multi-athlete Carter Morton both set personal bests Saturday at the U. of Iowa MUSCO Twilight track & field meet in Iowa City.
Hoyle is a 2021 Paton-Churdan graduate who is throwing the hammer for the first time. She was ninth with a personal best toss of 50.11 meters, or 164′ 5″.
Morton is a 2020 Greene County graduate who will be in the Drake Relays decathlon this Wed. and Thurs. in Des Moines. On Saturday, he took part in three events that are also decathlon events. He set a new PR in the javelin throw at 52.61 meters, or 172′ 7″ and placed third. He was second in the long jump at 23′ 8″ and he placed eighth in the 110 meter high hurdles in 14.93 seconds.
