The St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Perry recently held a gala event which raised a considerable amount of funds.
The St. Patrick’s Gala was recently held on April 9th after the coronavirus pandemic made it difficult to hold a similar event and the gala was able to raise $45,404 that will go toward assisting the church and the school. Principal Kandice Pattillo says the gala was successful this year.
“It was a huge success for us. I think the change of venue helped us to have more people present and we had a lot more community members there and that allowed us to double the amount of funds raised from the previous time we had it.”
Patillo tells Raccoon Valley Radio she is thankful for everyone that supported either by being in-person at the event or contributing donations along with everyone that helped to plan the event.
“I don’t think that thank you is enough by any means but thank you is a great place to start. It was an amazing event to be a part of. I think it was a really fun night and for those that were there in person I would say they agree the community building that happened with it was really nice to see and start again. That we could gather and still have a purpose and be putting money towards two great causes of things that need to be supported was wonderful.”
Pattillo says the plans are that the next St. Patrick’s Gala will be even more successful than this most recent one and for those who didn’t make it this year should make it for the event next year.
