A Churdan man was injured following a two vehicle crash Saturday morning.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, law enforcement responded to the wreck at 11:37am at the intersection of Velvet Avenue and 130th Street, south of Lanesboro. The crash report shows a 2019 Dodge Big Ram Horn, driven by 31-year-old Alexander Fister of Lytton, was heading north on Velvet Avenue and failed to obey the posted yield sign at the intersection with 130th Street and struck a westbound 2022 GMC Sierra on 130th Street and driven by 69-year-old Dennis Hardy of Churdan.
The Dodge truck came to a rest on 130th Street and the GMC Sierra came to a rest in the northwest ditch. Both drivers were taken by Carroll County Ambulance to Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City with injuries. Iowa State Patrol reports that Fister was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and Hardy wasn’t. Carroll County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
