This last Saturday the Wildcat boys soccer team travelled to Atlantic for a tournament. They started the morning off with a 9AM game against the Underwood Eagles, and continued their win streak with a nice 5-1 victory.

The scoring leader was senior Matt Gerling, who had 2 goals scored, 3 shots on goal, and a shooting percentage of 40%. Sophomore Kamron Kunkle was the assist leader, with 2 assists, and 4 shots on goal. And once again sophomore goalie Nate Gerling was a sterling defensive example, with 3 saves, only 1 goal allowed, and a save percentage of 75%.

The boys then went on to play the Logan-Magnolia Panthers afterwards, and continued the dominance they’ve shown the past week with a great 9-0 win. Senior Mitchell Dickson was the scoring leader in this game, with 4 goals scored, 7 shots on goal, and a shooting percentage of 44.4%. Sophomore Kamron Kunkle was the assist leader again for this game, with 3 assists, 2 goals scored, and 2 shots on goal. Sophomore Nate Gerling continued his show of defensive prowess with 3 saves, and a 100% save percentage.

The boys will continue play this week when they host the Grand View Christian Thunder tonight. They also will travel to Creston on Friday to make up a game that was postponed earlier this season.
