A Perry man was involved in a fatal crash that happened at 9:22pm April 9th in Dallas County.

According to the state patrol crash report, a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado truck driven by 26-year-old Kristopher Beller of Linden was approaching a stop sign while heading south on County Road P46 toward the controlled intersection with Iowa Highway 141. Sixty-nine-year-old Charles Motz, Jr. of Perry was traveling east on Highway 141 driving a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse, when for some unknown reason Beller’s Silverado entered the highway and struck the Eclipse. 

The State Patrol says Motz, Jr. died of his injuries, while his passenger, 73-year-old Donna Motz suffered injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Beller also suffered injuries and was taken by Dallas County EMS to Iowa Methodist Medical Center. The crash remains under investigation.
