Last week President Joe Biden accused Russia President Vladimir Putin of genocide against the Ukrainian people.

U.S. Senator Charles Grassley agrees that Putin is guilty of genocide in some respects, such as killing children. Other definitions of genocide also include wiping out whole classes of people and moving people outside of their normal society. However, Grassley believes it’s wrong to only consider Putin for either genocide or just war crimes against Ukraine, but instead he accuses Putin of being something else.

“It’s the inhumanity of what he was doing in a way in which needlessly killing people because Ukraine was no threat to Russia. That inhumanity is enough just to condemn him generally for being inhumane.”

Grassley believes Putin needs to be held accountable for his actions against the Ukrainian people and doesn’t care how he gets into a courtroom following this conflict.
