The Adel Public Library is in the process of raising funds by hosting an ongoing garage sale at the library.

Patron Services Manager Amy Puck says the garage sale fundraiser is running until 1 p.m. today for people to come check out what items are for sale at the library in the community room which includes a wide variety of items from home decor items to glassware among other things. Puck says the fundraising is important for the library.

“This is one of our most important fundraisers of the year. This is also one of our most profitable fundraisers of the year. With COVID, fundraising has been a challenge, not just for us, but everybody. So, we really depend on the public’s goodwill and charitability for this fundraiser. We do use this fundraiser for a lot of our summer reading programs so it really helps to benefit not just the library as a whole but our children’s programming as well.”

Puck tells Raccoon Valley Radio after the day closes for the garage sale, at 1 p.m today, it will pick back up again next week and run from Monday to Thursday during normal library hours and all of the proceeds go to the Friends of the Adel Public Library Foundation.
