Stuart Public Library

The Stuart Public Library is now offering a different style of books to help those with a certain reading impairment.

Library Director Lisa Sherman says they now offer books for those with dyslexia that have fonts to mitigate some of the issues that dyslexics have when reading. Sherman describes how this font works.

This dyslexia font what is happening is at the very bottom of every letter. It’s thicker, the ink is thicker, like it’s weighted and for some reason that works much better for people with dyslexia.”

She says the current book series they have with this font is called “Heres Hank,” written by Henry Winkler. Sherman adds readers can also request to borrow books with the font on an app called “Libby.”
