Iowa lawmakers on both sides of the House and Senate recently announced the inaugural slow pitch softball game which will include one Dallas County representative.

Iowa House Representative for District 19 Carter Nordman recently helped announce the Legislative Slow Pitch Softball Game that will be taking place on May 1st at Principal Park in Des Moines immediately following the Iowa Cubs game that begins at 1 p.m. Nordman talks about the softball game.

“There was a partnership between the Senate and the House. I’ve been working with Senator Koelker on coming up with some ideas that we can really promote Iowa tourism. I think a lot people think, ‘Tourism in Iowa those two words don’t go together,’ but we have so many great things to offer across the state and this is one of them, Principal Park is a great place.”

Nordman tells Raccoon Valley Radio the game will be between House and Senate Republicans and House and Senate Democrats with a portion of the funds going toward supporting multiple charities.

“We are looking forward to it and looking forward to raising money for two great charities. Those charities are going to be the Iowa Food Bank Association, that is what the Democrats have chosen and the Republicans will be raising money for the Puppy Jake Foundation.”

Purchasing a ticket also grants you access to the Iowa Cubs game. For more information or to get tickets you can go here for Republicans and here for Democrats.
