On a cold and windy Thursday, Greene County finished fourth among eight teams at Jester Park in a boys’ golf tournament hosted by Des Moines Christian. DMC was the team champion with 349 strokes to win the 18 hole event with Hampton-Dumont-Cal at 370, and 372 for Treynor. The Rams were in fourth at 377 with Coon Rapids-Bayard fifth at 403, followed by PCM (Monroe) 405, Panorama 411, and Earlham 417.
Jake Weissenberger of PCM was medalist at 81. Kole Teeples shot 87 to lead the Rams and was fourth overall. Other Greene County scores used in the team total were 93 from Joe Carey, 95 by Nathan Behne, and Max Riley and Jack Hansen tied for the the fourth spot on the team at 102.
Coach Heath Telleen told Raccoon Valley Radio “Our 377 is a nice score in some very tough conditions. Kole Teeples played very well for us today. DMC ran away with first, but we were right there with some quality teams.”
