There is potential severe weather in the forecast for tonight in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Alexis Jimenez expects the severe weather to hit around 6pm and possibly later. Jimenez says the storm will bring the potential for damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes. She advises residents to be aware.
“Just make sure you have multiple ways to receive warnings, especially since this main line is going to be towards the overnight hours. So having a way to wake yourself up if you are under the threat of severe weather is really, really important.”
Jimenez explains that this will be a fast moving storm with weather conditions changing rapidly. Anytime there is severe weather in Greene, Dallas or Guthrie counties, Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team provides live coverage of the storms until the storms drop below severe levels or they move out of the listening area.
