A Perry man faces charges from an alleged incident Sunday night.
Perry Police Chief Eric Vaughn tells Raccoon Valley Radio officers responded to an alleged assault incident at 5:15pm Sunday in the 2600 block of Summer Meadows Drive. During the investigation, Vaughn says 41-year-old Benito Ramirez assaulted two individuals inside the residence, where he used a pizza cutter on one of the victims, causing minor injuries to the neck. Vaughn notes Ramirez was checked out for his injuries and the two victims did not require medical attention.
Ramierz was then arrested and charged with a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for domestic abuse assault and an aggravated misdemeanor for assault-use of a dangerous weapon. Vaughn points out once Ramierz was brought back to the police station, the suspect headbutted the booking room wall and caused minor damage. He was then additionally charged with a serious misdemeanor for fourth degree criminal mischief.
Ramierz was then transported to the Dallas County Jail where he was booked and remains under a $5,000 bond.
