With the spring season here and the Easter holiday around the corner, Greene County residents are reminded to shop local this weekend.

Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community Promotions Team Co-Chair Bonnie Silbaugh says over 12 retailers are participating in the Hippity Hop Come and Shop promotion with lots of spring-related items that have filled a number of businesses.

“I think a lot of us are finally seeing all of those shipping problems that we’ve heard about for so long, we’re finally seeing some of that come out. So I would say the shops that I’ve be in are the fullest that they’ve been for a long time, especially with the seasonal items that we’re really looking for and that shoppers are looking for.”  

The spring retailer promotion is today and tomorrow.

Another event is with several other businesses along the Highway 30 corridor with Roadtrippin’ 30. Silbaugh says retailers and restaurants in Jefferson, Carroll, Denison, Maple River and Arcadia will be open from 10am-5pm today and tomorrow as well. Those businesses in Jefferson include Eweniquely Yours, Country Blessings, Greene Goods Market and Kreiger Greenhouses, Pickaway Americana, the Bargain Shoppe, Art on the Fly, Believe and Bee Well and The Junkyard Cafe.
