An initiative with a local organization that aims to spread joy to elders in Dallas County has a deadline coming up soon. 

Project Deliver the LOVE with Perry Lutheran Homes is still accepting names until April 22nd of elders who are 75-years-old or over, live in Perry or within a 10-mile radius of Perry and would be brought joy by receiving a personal delivery of a basket filled with food, fun and encouragement. 

The baskets will be delivered on May 4th this year and 150 volunteers are needed and can volunteer for a variety of tasks including assembling the baskets and delivering them. You can volunteer for a 1.5-hour shift from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the basket assembly will take place at the Perry Lutheran Homes Eden Acres Campus. 

To deliver the baskets you must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 16-years-old and you must be 12-years-old or over to volunteer to assemble baskets. Also, donations of medium to large baskets are needed and can be dropped off at the Eden Acres Campus.
