Greene County was to have had a coed track & field meet in Van Meter today, but poor weather conditions prompted VM officials to cancel the meet. Next up for Greene County is the Carroll Relays on Monday, April 11 at Carroll Athletic Field.

The Rams have had two outdoor meets and certain events are showing promise. Performances posted Wednesday afternoon on Varsity Bound for Class 2A track & field in Iowa has the Rams with five boys’ results in the top 10. Greene County girls had two top 10 performances on Varsity Bound yesterday afternoon.

The boys’ shuttle hurdle relay of Landyn Venteicher, Bryce Stalder, Nate Black, and Jackson Morton, stood third in their class at 1:03.39. The 4 x 400 stood sixth in 3:37.43 with Camden Strennen, Morton, Stalder, and Jesse Miller, and the 4 x 100 was ninth in :45.53 with Daniel Rivera, Morton, Strennen, and Stalder. Stalder was third in the class in the long jump at 21′ 3″ and Morton was third in the 110 meter high hurdles in :15.20 seconds.

The Greene County girls ranked tied for eighth in the 4 x 100 meter relay in :53.74 with Olivia Shannon, Kamryn Sanders, Alexa Peters, and Isabella Schroeder. Shannon ranked eighth in the 200 meter dash in :27.27.
