The Perry High School Academic Decathlon team recently competed in the state competition and came away with good results. 

The Perry Academic Decathlon team competed in the state competition earlier in March at Mason City High School. Perry sent eight students to compete and those students came away with seven medals from the competition. 

The medalists included Molly Moorhead gold in Division Small Essay, Aliya Ikhsanova silver in Division Small Speech, Bryce Eastman silver in Division Small Economics, Carolina Robles gold in Division Small Literature and a bronze in Division Small Music, Jose Chavez silver in Division Small Science and Lucas Davis with a silver in Division Small Math.

Also, out of 11 schools in the small schools division Perry placed 7th overall at the state competition. The theme for the 2022-2023 Academic Decathlon is “The American Revolution.”
