Governor Kim Reynolds recently awarded one business in central Iowa to create a youth internship program this summer.
Midwest Partnership Economic Development Corporation is located in Stuart and serves Guthrie and Adair counties, and received $116,000 for their program that will serve 17 participants. Midwest Partnership plans on working with area schools and finding those participants that are at risk of not graduating high school, represent minorities and are from a low income household. Midwest Partnership has 13 employers across Guthrie and Adair counties and the businesses participating include occupations in health care, engineering, agriculture, welding, carpentry and more.
