Dallas Center – Grimes boys and girls track and field competed on Tuesday night in Adel, with the boys team getting a first place finish with 144 team points and the girls a second place finish with 154 team points.
The boys got plenty of dynamic performances throughout the day, including Aiden Ramsey first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2 minutes and first in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4 minutes 41 seconds. Carter Boley finished first in the shot put with a mark of 52-01. The 4×200 meter relay team finished first with a time of 1 minute 32 seconds, and the 4×800 meter team first with a mark of 8 minutes 9 seconds.
On the girls side, Skyler Blessman finished first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2 minutes and 38 seconds. Kileigh Lachacz was first in the discus with a terrific throw of 120-08. Lachacz was also first in the shot put as well as she put up a mark of 39-00. The 4×400 meter relay team was first with a time of 4 minutes 13 seconds. The 4×800 meter team was also first with a time of 10 minutes. The 800 medley sprint team was 1 minute 56 seconds, also placing first.
Both teams were originally scheduled to get back to work today with another meet, but unfortunately due to weather conditions, they have been cancelled.
