On a beautiful early April night the Paton-Churdan boys’ track & field team was in Lake City for the South Central Calhoun Ink Wunderly Relays. The Rockets were seventh with 25.5 points. Madrid was the team champion with 163.
Co-coaches Jen Redenius and Joe Towers report the highest finishes for the Rockets were from Bradyn Smith in the shot put with a personal best of 42′ 6″, and the sprint medley relay of Justin Stream, Bryce Baker, Shaydon Thurman, and Seth Thurman in 1:50.71. Both events placed third.
Others in the top six for the Rockets were the fifth place distance medley in 4:36.6 with Riley Cullum, James Currier, Seth Thurman, and Daunte Mobley, and two sixth place finishes. Mobley was sixth in the 800 meter run in 2:50.6, and the 4 x 200 meter relay with sixth in 1:53.7 with Shaydon Thurman, Baker, Stream, and Currier.
