The West Central Valley – Nodaway Valley girls soccer team improved to 2-0 last night, as they defeated the Vikings of AHSTW. The first goal for the team came about halfway through the first period, and the second came with about 7 minutes left before the end of the first. The Vikings made a move with about 5 minutes left, to bring the score to 2-1, but that’s where their scoring ended.
In the second period, the WCV-NV girls scored quickly, only 5 minutes in, then added their 4th and final point at about the halfway point for the period. The final score was 4-1.
Head coach Michael Krawczyk said, “This was a good win for us tonight. We played better and controlled the ball better. Our defense played well, and our midfielders played hard. Our forwards keep getting shots as we had some hit the post. This was a good team win as we were able to get new players in the game to get some experience.”
The team continues action on Thursday night when they head to Creston to take on the Panthers.
