If you want to catch an opera show, there will be an opportunity to do so this Friday in Perry.

The Des Moines Metro Opera’s educational touring troupe OPERA Iowa will be performing Arias in Concert beginning at 7 p.m. this Friday in the Perry Performing Arts Center presented by Perry Fine Arts. Perry Fine Arts Committee Chairperson Cathy Clark talks about the program.

“We will have Arias in Concert and this is a program of a variety of the most popular opera offerings featuring music from the most well known operas and favorite musical theater pieces. So, I’m really looking forward to that. If you have never experienced opera here is an opportunity to come to opera in Perry, Iowa.”

Clark tells Raccoon Valley Radio this won’t be the only activity going on throughout the day as the opera will also be performing for the third and fourth graders at the Perry Performing Arts Center in the afternoon.

“They’ll have a brief introduction and then they’ll have the program and then there will be a(n) opportunity for question and answer. So, if you have a student that’s in third grade or fourth grade be sure and ask them how they enjoyed the opera. They will be seeing ‘The Littlest Mermaid’ and we are really excited about that.”

The Perry Fine Arts concerts are free and donations are accepted.
