A reminder that tonight is an annual fundraiser in support of the Greene County School District teachers.

The Bringing Optimism & Opportunities to Students & Teachers (BOOST) of Greene County fundraiser takes place tonight at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds, which starts with a meal at 6:30pm, followed by the auction. While tickets are no longer available for purchase, the online bidding is continuing until the event starts.

Chris Deal with BOOST talks about how difficult the teaching profession has been, especially in the past couple of years.

“Teaching certainly has never been an easy thing. But what we’ve seen here in the last years, I mean it’s just gotten more and more challenging. What our teachers do, what our staff do, administration, across the board, everybody involved with education is just incredible. So we see this event as one way we can say, ‘thank you,’ and celebrate, and appreciate and recognize the great things happening in our schools.”    

Since its inception five years ago, BOOST has raised over $225,000 in four years. Click the link below to bid on the silent auction items before 6:30pm tonight.
