Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center’s track and field teams continue to have meets canceled due to cold weather conditions which means they’ll have to practice indoors.
Head Girls Track and Field Coach Colin Shawgo says indoor practices make it tougher for them to prepare for their upcoming meets.
“It is nearly impossible. Last week we had a couple of indoor practices due to the weather and the kids don’t take it nearly as seriously as they do when it’s outdoors, and so it’s on us to make sure that they’re doing that. But at the same time, you’re very limited on what you can do indoors, and so the practices can get monotonous. And so therefore it is fairly understandable why kids start to get bored, for lack of a better term, on indoor practices. They would much rather be outside.”
The next meet will be on April 5th at Panorama High School in Panora. The forcast for next week looks like it may allow for the Chargers to get outside and practice and compete.
