It’s that time of year again as the weather gets warmer, Jefferson Public Works is reminding everyone to help them clean up the cemeteries.

Public Works Director Dave Morlan tells Raccoon Valley Radio the Cemetery Clean Up Week is April 4th-8th. He says any items that are not in a permanent vase with a gravesite at the city cemetery or the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery will be removed by city crews. He notes this happens annually after every winter season so each cemetery is ready for the next Memorial Day holiday.

Morlan adds after Memorial Day there will be another clean up week on June 13th-17th to again remove any flowers and other items that are not in a permanent vase.
